170 NCE students get UK support

No fewer than 170 Nigeria Certificate of Education (NCE) students of the National Teachers’ Institute (NTI), Kaduna, have benefitted from the Britain-Nigeria Educational Trust (BNET) in10 years, the Director General of NTI, Professor Garba Dahuwa Azare, has said.

He made the disclosure in Kaduna when he received the BNET team in his office.

Azare, who was represented by a director in the institute, Dr. Dele Yaya, said BNET had provided scholarship: ‘Teachers Award’, to students of the institute from the 36 states and the FCT with best Grade Point Average (GPA) in the second semester in the Distance Learning Studies (DLS) programme for 10 years.

He said each beneficiary was offered N47, 500 for his expenses for Cycles Two, Three and Four of the NCE/DLS programme. He urged the trust to extend the scholarship to students in degree programmes.
