What they want to achieve is when Fayose is now being held, they will cry persecution of opposition but, I don’t think the Buhari administration cares about that,” he said.
Presidential Candidate of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, has announced the appointment of Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki, as the Director-General of his Presidential Campaign Council.
The National Publicity Secretary of the party, Mr. Kola Ologbondiyan, confirming this in a media report, also said that the Sokoto and Rivers states Governors, Rt. Hon. Aminu Tambuwal and Mr. Nyesom Wike, respectively, had been named as zonal coordinators for North-West and South-South respectively.
Others who were also named as zonal coordinators are: Gombe State Governor, Alhaji Ibrahim Dankwambo (North-East), Benue State Governor, Mr. Samuel Ortom (North-central) and the Ebonyi State Governor, Chief Dave Umahi (South-East).
Mr. Ayodele Fayose, who only on Monday October 15, 2018 completed his tenure as governor of Ekiti State, was named as the coordinator for South-West. It is however not clear whether Atiku knew that with Fayose’s date with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), it may be uneasy to carry out the job he assigned to him to do in the Yoruba region of South West.

The party’s spokesperson also said that while the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Emmanuel Udom, was appointed Chairman of Fund Raising Committee, the former presidential aspirant, Alhaji Taminu Turaki, would head the legal committee. He also said that others campaign officials would be announced in due course.
