Governor of Ogun State, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, has declared his intention to run for Ogun Central Senatorial seat in 2019 election, The DEFENDER gathered.
Amosun had represented the senatorial district between 2003 and 2007 on the platform of All Nigeria People’s Party (ANPP) before he later became governor in 2011.
He made his intention to return to the Senate known on Wednesday at a stakeholders meeting of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abeokuta, the state capital
Report has it that the governor’s declaration comes barely 48 hours after the occupant of the seat, Lanre Tejuoso had declared to re-contest the seat.
