Governor of Kaduna State, Mallam Nasir el-Rufai, has declared free education in of the Northern Nigerian state for female students.

This new policy will take effect from September this year.

Governor el-Rufai stated this in Kafanchan during one of  his tours of Local Government Areas in the state.

He said measures were taken to ensure that every woman acquires the minimum of secondary school education for self reliance.

The governor emphasized that the state government was also looking at possible ways to make secondary school education free for both female and male students across the state.

He expressed the present administration’s readiness to ensure justice to every part of the state.

The governor called on people of the state to desist from politics of tribalism or religious sentiment, noting that politics is all about development.

He expressed appreciation with the turn out of people to receive him and his entourage.

In a remark, the State Party Chairman, Air Commodore Emanuel Jakada called on people in Southern Kaduna to avoid allowing themselves to be deceived by selfish politicians.

He therefore, appealed to them to continue to rally round the present administration for more developmental programmes.

In an interview, the Commissioner of Agriculture and Forestry, Dr. Manzo Daniel Maigari said the state government has done a lot in transforming the state.

He called on APC members and supporters in the area to unite for victory of the party.

In a related development, the Governor said that about five hundred thousand permanent voters cards are yet to be collected in Kaduna State.

The stated this in Kafanchan Jama’a local government area of the state during a meeting with APC executives  and supporters.

He therefore, called on people to go to the INEC office to collect theirs.

Governor el-Rufai noted that only when people obtain their voters cards can they elect the leaders of their choice.

He called on APC members  in Southern Kaduna to unite and embark on sensitization campaign on the good intentions of the present administration.

Dome respondents told The DEFENDER that the governor’s new decision was commendable considering that not many governors displayed much passion for the development of people through education like he has been doing in Kaduna State.
