Nigeria’s most vocal Muslim rights organisation, the Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) has announced a donation to it of a duplex building as its office in the Ajah area of Lagos State.

In a statement supposedly signed by its President, Prof. Ishaq Akintola, obtained by The DEFENDER on Monday, the donor was said to have advised his names should not be mentioned as, according to him, any such gift donated to an Islam oriented endeavour like MURIC, is a donation to Allah and that he expected his reward from Allah and Allah alone.

The statement said, “A pious Muslim businessman has given the Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) a duplex in Ajah, Lagos State.

“The Muslim brother insisted that his name must not be mentioned. He said he only seeks Allah’s rewards and nothing else.

“I urge all our members to spend ample time praying for this brother. Pray that Allah should open all locked doors for him. Pray that Allah should shower His mercy on him and put him and his loved ones under His protective and divine umbrella. But above all, pray that Allah should accept the gift from him as an act of ibadah.”

MURIC has been in need of financial help for quite some times to enable it pay for rent in its office accommodation currently in use, failure to pay, which would lead to its expulsion by its house owner.

The donation of the duplex is therefore not only sudden but also has come at a time that it saves the Nigeria’s leading fighter for the rights of Muslims from embarrassment.
