A further setback may have hit the camp of the Third Force being spearheaded by former President Olusegun Obasanjo against President Muhammadu Buhari as the President has finally taken long-awaited bold step in strengthening the All Progressives Congress (APC) with Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu leading the consultation, reconciliation and confidence building efforts in the party.

The new development, indicating that President Buhari has now begun to play required party politics and assume the leadership responsible of the APC, is said by Presidency to be part of on-going efforts to improve cohesion within the party and signposts a good standing of the party for repeated victory in 2019, despite the huge hues and cries of some former leaders and clear opposition politicians.

A statement by Senior Special Assistant to President on Media and Publicity, Malam Garba Shehu, copy of which was sent to The DEFENDER mid-Tuesday, confirmed this.

According to the statement, the assignment now placed on Tinubu will involve resolving disagreements among party members, party leadership and political office holders in some states of the Federation.
