…I still’ve confidence in President – Woman who named son after Buhari

One of The DEFENDER’s respondents said, “We have read a report saying Naira crashes against dollar upon Buhari’s return.  This is sign that some of the haters who made dollar scarce thereby causing hardship for citizens deliberately did so to create impression that Buhari was not competent.  Recall because they thought Buhari would die in London and that Osinbajo would become President, they crashed the dollars and started praising Osinbajo as better than Buhari.  If Naira has now crashed upon Buhari’s return, it is clear reason for the President to stop being a Converted Democrat and deal squarely with the corrupt people by declaring dollar scarcity as act of #CorruptionFightBack and involve Nigerians at grassroots in fight against them.  This is a fact because Buhari never depreciated the Naira and if Naira has now been crashing, it is deliberate effort of the evil ones sabotaging the economy,” he said.

President Muhammadu Buhari will on Monday write a letter to the National Assembly to formalise and make constitutional his return to work after his return on Friday from a 10-day annual leave spent in Abuja House, London, the United Kingdom, which was later extended due to medical reasons.

The President’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina, said on Friday via his Twitter handle, @FemAdesina.

Dismissing media reports that the President had asked Vice President Yemi Osinbajo to continue as acting President, Adesina said Buhari would Monday transmit a letter to the National Assembly to inform the legislators of his return.

The presidential spokesman said that would make Buhari’s return to work formal and constitutional.

Jubilation in Maiduguri over Buhari’s return

There was jubilation in Maiduguri on Friday over the return of President Muhammadu Buhari from vacation abroad. Several groups  in various locations sang, drummed and danced to welcome the President.

A group of youths moved to the Borno Radio Television where they expressed support for President Muhammadu Buhari as they sang, ‘Baba Oyoyo! Baba Oyoyo!’

One of them, Umar Dahiru, told our correspondent that he and his friends held special prayers for the quick recovery of the President. “We are so happy today that he has arrived, we couldn’t control our feelings, that was why we decided to show support for Baba Buhari,” he said.

Another supporter, Chris Achegbulu, said he looked forward to seeing Buhari tackling the nation’s economic challenges when he resumes on Monday.

Corrupt Nigerians’ apprehensions manifesting

The DEFENDER however gathered late last night that corrupt Nigerians who had openly sponsored hates and evil wishes against the President were seen held down in apprehension as some of them were sad while many other Nigerians were happy and jubilating seeing Buhari return.

…I still have confidence in president, says woman who named son after Buhari

Jos-based housewife Khadija Auwalu who named her son after President Muhammadu Buhari in 2011, after she went into labour queuing to vote for him, has declared that she never lost confidence in President Muhammadu Buhari.

It would recalled that Khadija delivered her son and returned to the polling unit to cast her vote for Buhari, an uncommon commitment to Change struggle that instantly caught attention of many across the country.

Responding to a prompter by a print media to speak on her current state of mind now in the face of “serious economic hardship”, many years after, Khadija Auwalu, said she had no regrets and that she still had confidence that the country’s economic downturn would soon turn around under President Buhari.

The 35-year-old mother of nine and her husband Auwalu had in 2011 named their son Buhari, even though their candidate did not win the election at that time. The young Buhari, almost clocking six years now, is now popularly referred to as ‘General’ around the community.
