Nigeria’s Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, has won in his Polling Unit 006, Oro Ward 2, Kwara State during the governorship election which held on 9 March 2019.

Mohammed, who is also the Leader of All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state, had led the ‘O To Ge’ revolution against the Saraki political hegemony holding Kwara politics to its own grip for over 40 years.

‘O To Ge’ means ‘Enough is Enough’, necessitated by heir of the Saraki’s dynasty, Bukola, whose time to be pushed out, it was learned, was prompted by the anti-Nigerian crusade he, as Senate President, led fighting the APC’s Federal Government of President Muhammadu Buhari.

In Saturday’s poll, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, who had earlier in presidential and national assembly elections made a good show of strength ensuring defeat of Saraki crashing him out of Senate seat, repeated a good show of strength delivering his Polling Unit 006, Oro Ward 2, Kwara State to APC polling 198 against PDP’s 39 votes in the governorship while also clinching 186 for APC against PDP’s 48 votes in the state House of Assembly poll.

Alhaji Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq is APC’s governorship candidate for Kwara State in the election, with his closer contestant, Mr. Razaq Atunwa as PDP’s candidate.
