*Those condemning Buhari documentary will complain about God if they “mistakenly” make heaven – Femi Adesina

Very soon, now that Nigeria has joined scores of other UN member countries to vote against United States’ recognition of Jerusalem as capital of Israel and Trump is contemplating stopping the financial aides his country grants to Nigeria which beneficiaries are mainly these so called NGOs, we are waiting for another protest by AIED because it will also blame the Buhari Administration for allowing Nigeria to vote against such unhealthy Donald Trump’s interest. This is the kind of thing most NGOs are granted foreign aides to do against their own country in Nigeria but this time, we are waiting for them,” Adedoyin said.
A group of Nigerians under the aegis of Concerned Citizens has derided the Advocacy for Integrity and Economic Development (AIED) and other critics who, it said, instead of seeing lives in what it described as very educative and problem solving documentary on President Muhammadu Buhari are seeing ghosts.
AIED, they said, should particularly take caution and work more for Nigeria that is the nation of their own than they had chosen to do for the foreign organizations which were sponsoring them and who they were doing what they had just done over the Buhari documentary to serve, adding that the non-governmental organisation’s only way of seeing the documentary was to say “there is no human side” in the President.
The group however pointed out that “All of those who decided to, under any disguise of NGO or freedom of speech, stand on the wheel of progress of Nigeria and good government of the moment in the country will not go without seeing the repercussion of what they are doing against the country that all of us claim to own,” it said.
The Advocacy for Integrity and Economic Development (AIED) had, according to Daily Post, described the documentary made by the Presidency to show the ‘human side’ of Buhari as an inhuman gesture by the Buhari-led administration.
The AIED’s statement said, “The documentary is a spat on the tears of Nigerians who for the last few days have been spending sleepless nights at fuel stations and paying through their nose for black matter rate fuel at 500 naira per litre. Coming at a time when the population of unemployed Nigerians is at an all time high and the means of livelihood is next to impossible, this documentary is distasteful”, it read.
“To add salt to an open wound, the Presidency assembled redundant men of questionable characters most who are known signature of corruption to vouch for the President on a trait they lack. Agents and cronies of the President who are benefitting from the systemic corruption and esprit de corps graft activities that have overclouded the presidency.
“It is disgusting that a Presidential tenure characterized by state-backed extra judicial killings, blatant disregard for the rule of law, economic decadence and hyper profligacy can engage in image marketing rather than fixing the hell hole it has dragged Nigeria into. In a sane society, the crops of individuals that presently make up the Presidency should have been arrested, tried and jailed for taking the country to a state of chaos,” it said.
But the NGO was further taken to the cleaners by the group, spoken by Mr. Fusi Adedoyin, who Monday expressed surprise that an NGO operated by coming together of some supposedly learned people could not identify a government that was self-accountable, transparent and pro-active.
According to Adedoyin, who spoke to The DEFENDER in Lagos, an organisation feeding fat on aides from foreign or local interests who never wanted any good happening on the ground of their own country Nigeria should never be taken serious by any citizen who by the March 28, 2015 ballot was signatory to the bond President Muhammadu Buhari literally signed with Nigerians to kill corruption before corruption kill Nigeria.
He said, “Just read the AIED’s statement again and you will see where it gave its reasons for why the Buhari documentary should not have been aired to include people spending sleepless nights at fuel stations and paying through their nose for black market rate at N500 litre. It went further to say this was coming at a time when the population of unemployed Nigerians is at an all time high and the means of livelihood is next to impossible and then dismissed the documentary as distasteful.
“What is more disgraceful in the AIED’s uninformed position was for it to insult the great, intelligent, very resourceful Nigerians who are solidly behind this government of Buhari asking him all time to push on with their solidarity intact. It also described such people including some of us the Concerned Citizens as ‘redundant men of questionable characters most who are known signature of corruption to vouch for the President on a trait they lack.’ AIED even called us agents and cronies of the President that are benefitting from the systemic corruption and esprit de corps graft activities that have overclouded the presidency even as it said it was disgusting that a Presidential tenure characterized by state-backed extra judicial killings, blatant disregard for the rule of law, economic decadence and hyper profligacy can engage in image marketing rather than fixing the hell hole it has dragged Nigeria into.”
Having helped revisit some of the comments it said the Advocacy for Integrity and Economic Development (AIED) shamelessly made in its attempt to rubbish the good things that are embedded in the Buhari documentary, the concerned citizens pointed out that, “An NGO which only hears negative about the government of its home country and, despite many clarifications about the true state of thing, remains deliberately in the dark of its hypocritical ignorance does not deserve an engagement in a public discourse.”
