A new Commissioner of Police, Fatai Ajani Owoseni, has assumed duty at the Benue State Police Command headquarters in Makurdi.

Owoseni took over from Bashir Makama, who has been posted to the Police Force headquarters in Abuja.

The new Commissioner of Police was redeployed to take charge of Administration at the Force Criminal Intelligence and Investigation Department (FCIID), Abuja after having served for quite sometimes Lagos State Commissioner of Police, before his new posting as Benue State Commissioner of Police.

In a statement by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) for the Benue State Police Command, ASP Moses Joel Yamu, the new head appealed to residents of the state to cooperate with the police through provision of useful information.
