Director of Information, Office of the Wife of the President, Mr. Suleiman Haruna, has described as unprofessional the misrepresention by Daily Post of an old photo of the president, his wife, Solid Mineral Minister Kayode Fayemi and his wife as if the Wife of the President gave instruction for its release as fresh photo.

He therefore demanded for withdrawal of the story and an apology from the online medium saying it was shocking such report emanated from it.

In a statement he emailed to The DEFENDER, the wife of the president’s media aide said:

“I was shocked to see a simple, short and straightforward communication I had with a reporter from Daily Post, an online blog, Imanuel Jannah twisted 360 degrees.

“Jannah, like many other reporters that called me over the same issue, wanted me to clear the air over a picture of Mr. President and his wife circulating on the social media. I responded to him like I did all other reporters that the picture was old and taken from somebody’s facebook account (Aishat Alubankudi), without her permission, I was clear to him that she had condemned such malicious act.

“The reporter went ahead and twisted the story to say I have revealed Alunbankudi as the person who released the picture. He even attributed his claim to Her Excellency as if she had given me instruction to ‘expose’ the source of the picture. I see this action as unprofessional and didn’t expect this from Daily Post, I have requested for a withdrawal of the story and an apology for this unfair story. Let us operate within the limits of decorum while we elect to go sensational on our stories.”
