Nigeria’s Presidency has hinted of the plan of the Muhammadu Buhari Administration is set to commence the building of 550 Low Cost Houses in the nation’s capital city of Abuja for the poorest of the people of the country.

Special Assistant to the President of the country on Social Media, Lauretta Onochie, made this disclosure on her Twitter handle on Wednesday.

Onochie, who said N9 billion had been provided for this purpose of building the houses in the FCT, said the low cost housing projects will be replicated across the 36 state of Nigeria.

“Beginning with Zuba, and later Lugbe and Kwali, all in the FCT, ₦9 Billion has been provided by the FG to build 550 Low Cost Houses. Decent accommodation for the poorest of our nation Similar low cost housing projects will be replicated across the 36 States of Nigeria,” the body language specialist, Lauretta Onochie said.

In the meantime, Nigerians have taken to Twitter to make their opinions known about the new development.

While some applaud it, largely describing it as now the very long awaited social welfare programme that any Nigerian government had been expected to offer to the less privileged and/or low class and middle classes of citizens, others say “Let us pin down to the projects until they are completed”.

Their feedbacks were all picked from the responses to the presidential aide’s tweet.

First to come was Larry Fash @LarryFash47 who said: “Those Nigerians blessed with great knowledge & whom aren’t Criminals will 4ever Cherish PMB cos he is a God Reserved Blessings.”
