The Chartered Institute of Administration (CIA) has honoured Prof. Ayandiji Aina, the Vice Chancellor Caleb University Imota, Lagos, with a Fellow award.

The President of the Council of CIA, Prof. George Chima said at the presentation that the award was as a result of Aina’s impeccable and distinguished performance as an administrator and leader.

“Your election as a Fellow of the Institute, by the Governing Council, is a testimony of your impeccable and distinguished worth as Administrator par excellence, patriotic leader, mentor and bridge builder.

“I share in the joy of inducting you into the Fellowship grade, which is the highest grade of the institute’s membership.

“I can testify that you are an inspirational role model, one who has distinguished himself in his chosen field of study in service to many institutions as well as to humanity,” he said.

Chima said the institute has been contributing to human capital development by qualifying professionals in the field of administration, who occupy positions in public and private sectors of the economy.

He noted that the institute was committed to ensuring that its members are equipped with requisite skills to function as administrators.

The CIA president also expressed delight at the recent collaboration between the CIA and Caleb University, which was sealed by a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

Chima, who was recently appointed as a Professor of Entrepreneurship and Business Administration in the University, also thanked the management for honouring him with the appointment.

Responding, Aina expressed gratitude towards the Institute for electing him as a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Administration (FCIA).

He attributed his success, as an administrator of the university, to the support from his colleagues and other stakeholders in various institutions.

“I accept this award, Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Administration, as a befitting testimonial to the teamwork and the tremendous support that I have received from my colleagues.

“My award as FCIA is also a tribute to the vision of the proprietor and founder of Caleb University, the Board of Trustees and Governing Council of our great institution.

“It is an acknowledgement of the unique role played by my mentors, mentees and our collaborating partners in the task of nation-building and the business of expanding the frontiers of knowledge,’’ he said.

On the recent MoU between Caleb and CIA, Aina said: “Even though, the MoU came as this session is running to an end, our students are willing to take advantage of the CIA for professional enhancement of their degrees when they graduate on Oct. 12.

The V-C disclosed the university plans to collaborate with foreign institutions to help harness Nigeria’s human resources for productivity.

“As part of our drive to integrate the town and gown, we are conducting researches with local relevance and global impact.

“In the coming weeks, I shall be leading a team of Caleb University Officers to a global connectivity meeting with Directors of Executive Education at Harvard Business School and Massachusetts Institute of Technology, in Boston, USA.

“This meeting will enable us to develop best global practices in harnessing the human resources of our nation for greater productivity.

“We hope when the deals are secured and CIA is contacted, we can jointly mobilise our members to take advantage.
