It is new lease of life as winner of September 22, 27 inconclusive and run-off governorship elections, respectively, in Osun State, Mr. Isiaka Gboyega Oyetola, takes the oath of office as new governor.

Oyetola, who rose to power as candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the elections, was inaugurated alongside his deputy thereby taking over officially from his predecessor, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, in Osogbo, the state capital, after he was sworn-in by the Chief Judge of the state on Tuesday November 27.

Declaring the results of the elections which concluded on Thursday September 27, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) through its Returning Officer in the state, Prof. Joseph Adeola Afuwape, had announced that Oyetola garnered 255,505 votes to defeat his main rival, Senator Ademola Adeleke of the PDP, who polled 255,023 votes.

The swearing-in event had in attendance: governors from the South-West, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF, Boss Mustapha, who represented President Muhammadu Buhari, the Ooni of Ife, among others.
