One of them who spoke under condition of anonymity said, “You can see what is going on. Now, again they have failed because, even the most wicked of the cynics knows that Fulani will never do such a hypocrisy killing his own people for whatever gain. Not even a God-fearing man like Tambuwal. So, you journalists should go and report that we have asked the scripter of that circulated video game to find another joker as this has failed already,” he said.
Governor of Sokoto State, Rt. Hon. Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, was among other governors and deputy governors of cross-party platforms who paid condolence visit on the Governor of Plateau State, Barrister Simon Lalong, in Jos, on Friday.
Governor Tambuwal during the visit called on Nigerians to ignore a “satanic video” linking him to the killings of over 200 persons in some villages of Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of the state.
Tambuwal, who was on a condolence visit to the Government and people of Plateau State alongside Governors of Bauchi, Zamfara, Benue, Imo, Delta and Nasarawa states as well as Deputy Governors of Kaduna, Akwa Ibom, Oyo, Ondo and Edo states said, on Friday, said, “I have no hands in this, I should not be associated with it; people should ignore this satanic video which is trying to incite the people against one another.”
He said Plateau was like a second home to him which he frequented since becoming governor.
The governor said he has called the attention of security agencies to the video and was notified that it was created and circulated during the last administration.
Reacting to the development whereby a kindhearted youthful and God-conscious leader like Tambuwal would have been dragged by sponsors of destability generally believed to have been perpetrated to weaken President Muhammadu Buhari thereby paving the way for some self-centred political opposition to get back to power in 2019, some Nigerians who spoke to The DEFENDER said there is no iota of truth in the so-called video described by the governor as satanic.
