Former Deputy Governor of Ogun  State and Senator representing Ogun East at the Seventh Senate of the Federal Republic, Senator Sefiu Adegbenga Kaka, will be 65 on May 14, 2017.

The God fearing Nigerian politician was sighted at the 8th Day Fidau prayer of a late former Ogun State lawmaker and one time Secretary Ogun State All Progressives Congress (APC), Alhaji Safi Abimbola Awofeso, nephew of Chief Obafemi Awolowo.

He was overheard telling somebody that he would be thanking Allah on May 14 for seeing him through to 65 alive.

Kaka, in a later interview, had said that he would be marking his birthday with a gift to the society, which, investigations further showed is going to be simple but a splash.

Born on May 14, 1952 to a pious Muslim family of Ijebu-Igbo, Ogun State, Senator Adegbenga Kaka is a Nigerian politician, who was elected Senator for Ogun East in the April 9, 2011 national assembly elections, on the platform of Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) polling 76,543 votes ahead of the then ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP)’s candidate, Toheeb Odunowo who scored 52,613 votes and the People’s Party of Nigeria (PPN)’s candidate, Prince Abiodun Odusanya, who scored 46,148 votes.

Kaka, as far back as 1990/91, had been on the corridors of power as he served under Commodore Oladeinde Joseph as commissioner.

He became co-elected as Deputy Governor of Ogun State in 1999 and completed his four years ending 2003, during the governorship of Chief Olusegun Osoba.
