So far in the course of his task, many “prominent” individuals later discovered to be thieves had been brought to disgrace.
…. THE VERY RECENT AND VERY DISGRACEFUL AMONGST THE PACK BEING THE ABOMINABLE, UNBELIEVABLE AND UNFORGIVEABLE INVOLVEMENT OF THE “CHIEF ARBITER” OF THE LAND, ….. A MAN WHOSE PRONOUNCEMENT HAD SENT VERY MANY MEN/WOMEN TO GAOL FOR SAME CRIME HE ALSO COMMITS UNDER THE COVER OF DARKNESS! THAT “CHIEF ARBITER” IS WALTER ONNOGHEN!
Interestingly and unfortunately, many of those who always demand for STRONG INSTITUTIONS and the RULE OF LAW are prominent amongst those shouting “blue murder and witch-hunt” over proven issues of sleaze in which the culprit admitted guilt … as over-sight!
NO WONDER OBAMA REFUSED TO VISIT NIGERIA TRY AS MUCH AS GOODLUCK JONATHAN’S ADMINISTRATION DID TO LURE HIM HERE, INSTEAD HE CHOSE OVER US … GHANA, EGYPT, TANZANIA, SOUTH AFRICA, ETHIOPIA AMOGST OTHERS, … HE ONLY SENT US A VERBAL COUNSEL FOR US TO GO BUILD STRONG INSTITUTIONS INSTEAD STRONG POWER MONGERING MEN!
Today, a look at those countries he visited could attest to growth and maturity of their institutions, … GHANA SACKS CORRUPT JUDGES WITHOUT QUALMS AND OPPOSITION SIDE-TAKINGS, … ETHIOPIA IS ADMINISTRATIVELY BRASH, … SOUTH AFRICA SHOWED STUFF BY KICKING OUT ATIKU’S BOSSOM FRIEND, ZUMA, … EGYPT RAILROADED THE BROTHERHOOD AND KEPT ITS LEADER AND ONE TIME PRESIDENT IN GAOL, WHILE THEY TOOK HOSNI MUBARAK ALSO AN EX-PRESIDENT THROUGH THE GRILL OF THE RULE OF LAW, …. AND MAGAFULI IS RAMPAGING TANZANIA AND RE-STRAIGHTENING IT BACK TO THE MWALIMU NYERERE PRINCIPLE.
… OR IS IT RWANDA THAT’S FAST CARVING NICHES FOR SELF AS AFRICA’S CENTRE-POINT? ALL THIS GIANT STRIDES FROM COUNTRIES WE TAKE FOR MERE CRICKETS, WHILE WE THE SO-CALLED HUMPTY-DUMPTY GIANT OF AFRICA ARE HERE GRANDSTANDING THIEVES LIKE ONNOGHEN AND HIS SOUL MATES.
To bring sanity and credibility into the system, the president has “suspended” him pending whatever, … and the acting CJN has in a couple of hours after his appointment shown us via the promulgation on his policy frame-work that, … FORMATING ORDERS TOWARDS BUILDING ROCK-SOLID INSTITUTIONS ISNT ROCKET SCIENCE, OR HASNT HE TOLD US THAT PROVEN CORRUPTION CASES WOULD BE DISPENSED IN MARKED DAYS DEVOID OF LEGAL MANIPULATION COURTESY OF SOME “UNPRINCIPLED CHOICE OF MONEY ABOVE NATIONAL INTEREST SANs?”
Folks, simply for a moment imagine if Onnoghen had before now edicted this same kind of order the acting CJN has just promulgated, and if our NASS too had synergised with the president and passed the anti-corruption bill, wouldnt we have arrived at the heart of firming up our institutions? Knowing that in saner and civilised societies, the judiciary is the whip the executive depends on to guide institutions in line!
EACH AND EVERYONE OF US SHOULD POCKET THIS, …. UNTIL WE COLLECTIVELY IN ONE VOICE SHAME THE THIEVES AND STOP CREATING “FAN BASES” FOR THEM, WE ARE NO DIFFERENT FROM THEM! Let a thief carry own cross without being gifted sentiment.
