A Nigeria citizen, Omoregbe Steven Osato, was reportedly arrested by a Border Guard Bangladesh patrol team for allegedly entering Bangladesh on December 26 illegally.
It was reported that he entered Bangladesh from Teroghor near Gatipara border in Benapole.
Omoregbe was said to have arrived in New Delhi on December 12 on a business visa but had no visa for Bangladesh.
BGB Commander Lt Col Tariqul Hakim confirmed the detention and said he was being held at Benapole Port police station.
