Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari has reassured Nigerians that they have nothing to worry about his extended vacation in London.

He said his staying longer than planned was following the tests, which showed that he needed a longer period of rest.

The President stated this in a statement issued in Abuja on Tuesday by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina.

President Buhari, however, appreciated the love and concern displayed by the millions of Nigerians in mosques and churches throughout Nigeria, who had been sending good wishes and praying for his good health and well-being.

The statement said, “The President is immensely grateful for the prayers, show of love and concern.

“President Buhari wishes to reassure Nigerians that there is no cause for worry.

“During his normal annual checkup, tests showed he needed a longer period of rest, necessitating the President staying longer than originally planned,” Femi Adesina said in the statement.

The DEFENDER’s findings showed that President Buhari since he took over the mantle of power of the complex nation Nigeria on May 29, 2015 had gone for leave only for 15 days.
