Men of Ogun State Police Command have arrested a 19-year-old notorious cultist in the state.

The arrest criminal, whose arrested was effected on March 23, 2018 according to a statement issued in Abeokuta by the State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), ASP Abimbola Oyeyemi copy of which was sent to The DEFENDER on Sunday, was said to have been terrorising Agbara and its environs for quite sometimes.

According to the statement, the suspect named Daniel Bartholomew, a male, who has been on the wanted list of the command for the role he played in series of cult clashes in Agbara, Lusada, Igbesa and other places, was arrested opposite Crawford University along Lusada-Agbara Road in Ogun State by a team of policemen led by ASP Ajoba Lamidi, when they were carrying out stop and search duty in the area.

The suspect, who was on a motorcycle quickly made a u-turn when he sighted the policemen but was hotly chased and apprehended.

Recovered from him are one locally made pistol and an expended cartridge.

“He has made a confessional statement to the fact that he is a leading member of the dreaded EYE confraternity,” the statement said.

Meanwhile, the Ogun State Commissioner of Police, CP Ahmed Iliyasu, has ordered that the suspect be transferred to FSARS for discreet investigation.
