*Opposition will go to any level of evil due to desperation – Respondent

A Respondent of The DEFENDER, asked to comment on the twist by the ‘mischief makers’ and the denial by the ‘author’, simply said, “If Okonjo-Iweala’s own statement can be twisted just to get at destroying anything associated with President Muhammadu Buhari and his APC-led Federal Government, it tells you the extent people playing opposition politics in Nigeria can go because of frustrations.  Now that their own has properly called them what President Buhari was charitable about, ‘Mischief Makers’, they should see in certainty they are doomed before the 2019 for which reason they have now turned abnormal people.  How can they put sitting government on its toes with the kind of destructive, unpatriotic activities they are engaged in?” He submitted.

It is yet another exposition of the level of desperation those who play opposition politics in Nigeria can go as they are even now proved to have successfully twisted a statement of one of them, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, who was Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy under the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Administration of Goodluck Ebele Jonathan.

In the new twist, they said Okonjo-Iweala described in her new book described the immediate past Governors of Lagos and Rivers states, Babatunde Raji Fashola (SAN) and Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, respectively, as scavengers.

But Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, who is currently operating at the global level of economy, has slammed those twisters she termed “mischief-makers” for “putting words” in her mouth by saying she described Fashola and Amaechi, now ministers, as scavengers.

Okonjo-Iweala, who was also a former minister of finance during the administration of former President Olusegun Obasanjo, was reacting to reports trending on the social media where she allegedly said ‘yesterday’s scavengers are today’s saints.’

The two-time Minister of Finance was said to have stated this in her book, ‘Fighting Corruption is Dangerous.’

However, Okonjo-Iweala said those were not her words saying, “At no point in my book, ‘Fighting Corruption is Dangerous,’ did I say ‘yesterday’s scavengers are today’s saints.’

“While I appreciate all the reviews and discourse the book is generating at home and abroad; mischief-makers who wish to add their comments should get their own copy of the book so that they can make intelligent contributions, rather than putting words in my mouth.”

In the trending social media report, Okonjo-Iweala allegedly talked about the challenges she faced while trying to make the Nigerian Government save during the season of oil boom.
