Nigerians, early Thursday morning, took to social media to question the sudden Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leadership’s silence over the reported ceasing of $4 million traced to their presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.

The DEFENDER had on Tuesday reported the arrest by Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) of an Atiku’s lawyer with $2 million he laundered on behalf of his client.

The bureau de change operator that converted the dollar to Naira however said he was paid by Atiku Naira equivalent of $4 million, which Atiku campaign sources confirmed was meant for settling their members in Lagos.

The fully charged citizens generally agreed that: “On the seized Atiku’s $4m in Lagos, Ologbondiyan became suddenly deaf and dumb!!!! Secondus suddenly cannot read and write!!!”

EFCC source reportedly turned down the request to confirm the interception of the Atiku’s electoral bribe money believed to be meant for Lagos voters.

His reason being that he was not permitted to do so.

It will be recalled PDP leaders and their supporters till today continue to deny doing vote-buying in Ekiti and Osun states elections.

Although all the vote-buyers arrested with six Police officers allegedly paid N6 million each to compromise the Osun State governorship election are all PDP politicians, the “desperate” opposition staged a violent protest days after losing the keenly contested election led by Uche Secondus, Bukola Saraki, Ben Buce, Dino Melaye at Force Headquarters Abuja with attempt to pull down the main gate of the Loui’s Edet House to force their way in, demanding the release of their arrested chieftains.

Upon knowing the evidence the Police has against them over the Osun election, they went underground. The police however served them invitation later to appear and answer to questions regarding their violent protest at the Force Headquarters.

The PDP leaders have supported many other criminal suspects before and since then including the suspended Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN) Walter Onnoghen, two global banks which closed representative offices in Nigeria for breaching the rules of Nigeria’s financial sector and sanitising policy of the nation’s Central Bank and which are globally indicted as safe haven for looted monies, and ballot boxes snatchers they are currently defending.

To drive home their offensives against government efforts to ensure violence free 2019 general elections, these PDP leaders had gone to the extent of lobbying the international community particularly United States of America whose President Donald Trump is believed to be backing their presidential aspiration on an alleged compromise by Atiku to open the crude oil of Nigeria to them and sell the nation’s NNPC to enrich his foreign and local friends.
