The police in Lagos State has uncovered a shrine in Agbowa, Ikorodu, believed to be patronised by the dreaded Badoo cult group and allegedly owned by one Alhaji Alaka Abayomi, an independent petroleum marketer, and who has also been arrested along with three other suspect and a traditional ruler.

The uncovering was done, on Monday, following the gruesome murder of four family members at Ibeshe, Ikorodu on Sunday, the Lagos State Police Command has arrested the Baale of Ipakodo, a town on the outskirt of Ikorodu and three others.

The operation which was carried out in the early hours of Monday was led by Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of operations, Imohinmi Edgal.

The Badoo cult group has terrorised residents of Ikorodu and its environs for several months and killed and maimed several residents.

A video of the operation posted online showed that there were figurines and moulded figures in the shrine.

There were also a few baskets, broken eggs and all manner of sacrifices and metal gongs.

When contacted Monday night by The DEFENDER, the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), ASP Olarinde Famous-Cole, confirmed the operation, in a one line reply to a text message sent to him.

“Yes we discovered a shrine today (Monday)”, he said to The DEFENDER.
