President Buhari nominates non-executive directors for CBN Board

Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari has forwarded his nominees for the Board of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) as non-executive directors.

Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina, disclosed this in statement in Abuja on Wednesday.

He said the President, acting “in accordance with Sections 6 (1) (d) and 10 (1) and (2) of the Central Bank of Nigeria (Establishment) Act, 2007,” on Wednesday forwarded the list of his nominees in a letter to the Senate for confirmation as Non-Executive Directors of the Board of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).

The letter addressed to the Senate President, Abubakar Bukola Saraki, Femi Adesina said, contained names of the nominees and their geo-political zones.

They are Professor Ummu Ahmed Jalingo – North East, Professor Justitia Odinakachukwu Nnabuko – South East, Professor Mike I. Obadan – South South, Dr. Abdu Abubakar – North West and Adeola Adetunji – South West.
