The Sultan of Sokoto and Sarikin Musulumi of Nigeria, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar III, has given his word to the Attah and Paramount Ruler of Aiyede Kingdom, Oba Alhaji Abdul Mumini Adebayo Orisagbemi, that he would be back in the ancient to commission the ongoing palace projects including the mosque in the community on completion.

This was his response to request by the Attah’s invitation that it would be his wish for the Leader of the Caliphate to do him and his Aiyede community a honour by coming back to commission the projects when completed.

The Sultan made open his acceptance to be back as requested when he was in the community last Saturday November 18 on an on-the-spot visit to the Ekiti traditional ruler he proudly calls “My friend” just like the Attah proudly calls the Sultan “My Spiritual Leader”.

During the visit the Sultan inspected the ongoing and already completed projects within the Attah of Aiyede’s Palace premises.  Ongoing are the moderate Palace mosque and expansive new Palace House and about three main halls to be fully renovated to modern standard, while the N10 million all-inclusive Palace Office Block already completed was also inspected and commended by the Sultan.

Sultan Sa’ad Abubakar, in his address during the reception in his honour at the Attah’s Palace, assured the Aiyede Ekiti sons and daughters that there was no basis for them to look down upon themselves as a small community, saying, “No community is small, all of us are the same.”

The Sultan, who was apparently impressed by the level of explosive welcome thrown up by the Attah and people of Aiyede community, was no doubt sure that the future of the non-urban Nigerian community is great and bright.

“We thank God for His mercy on us.  We thank God for His mercy on this town and we pray to Him to guide us safely back to our destinations and pray to Him to bring us back here time without number, Insha Allah.  There are so many projects the Attah of Aiyede is doing.  We have to, Insha Allah, be present for commissioning,” he said.
