The Hausas stood with Buhari; the Igbos stood with Obi but, the Yorubas did not stand with their own!

The results of the presidential election of the penultimate Saturday shows that Yorubas are a very peculiar people, who hate to always stand by and with their own. From the outcome of the votes that came from the Yoruba land for Osinbajo, it was obvious a lot of Yorubas did not care if he wins or not!

If not for the votes of the North, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo and the Yoruba nation would have lost that position of the vice president and number two in the presidency to Peter Obi, a man from another tribe.

The Igbos tenaciously stood by their own son, but the Yorubas did not. It is the same thing some misnomer Yoruba people are doing to Asiwaju right now.

They have been using so many things to keep harassing the place of his political leadership in Yoruba land. The latest on the list they are using is that ‘Otoge’ Jargons!

That is the same way they were harassing Awolowo! Awolowo faced the same persecution from Yoruba people, when he was here. They hardly ever appreciated his efforts, mission and vision from the socio-political and economic survival and emancipation of the Yoruba race, until he died.

In Yoruba land, Yorubas won’t ever appreciate you or give you your due respect and regard, unless you have to die first. If you don’t die, the Yorubas won’t ever build the right value for you or whatever efforts you are making for the socio-political and economic well being of their geo-political land.

*In the penultimate Saturday presidential election results, it is obvious the Northerners wanted Buhari and stood with him with their votes; the Igbos wanted Peter Obi, their own son, and stood by him with their votes, but in Yoruba land, Yemi Osinbajo didn’t get those kinds of support. His own people refused to come out to vote enmass for him! This is peculiarly who we are as Yorubas!

We are always the first to antagonise and work against what belongs to us!

And, that is why we are losing it politically! This is what the people, we accommodate in Yoruba land have seen and know about our peculiar socio-political character and attitude that has been motivating the socio-political gra! gra!! in our geo-political space.

And, that is what is given the Igbos, especially, the impetus to feel they can continue to struggle with the Yorubas for the control and domination of our geo-political spaces in Yoruba land.

The results of the last presidential election, did not show that the Yorubas appreciate their present political position as number two in the country. Seemingly, we do not appreciate it, because rebellion is in our blood, we don’t care what we gain or lose by being rebellious! We are just fundamentally a highly rebellious and difficult people to lead!

Graciously, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, was the political face and strength of the Yoruba political face and prominence in the just concluded presidential election as the number two man in the present federal power in Nigeria, but the Yorubas seemingly did not show they appreciate the privilege or prove they continue to deserve their position with their votes last presidential election votes.

Little wonder the Yorubas did not vote for Osinbajo in Oyo and Ondo. The margin they gave to him to manage to win in Ogun, Osun and Lagos, was too poor and shameful for any politically conscious and reasonable Yoruba person like me to be proud of.

I am not proud and happy with the number of votes Prof. Yemi Osinbajo got in Yoruba land, his home based political place. This is to show and justify, who we Yorubas are! That ‘afemi, afemi’, ‘kenimani’ and ‘ogbon agbonju’ mentality  is our main problem as we hardly ever support and appreciate anything good thing that has to do with our own!

I really don’t know what is wrong with us in Yoruba land ‘Igi eleyi o da, a yo ni na. Igi tohun o da, a yo ni na. Igi wo gan lo fe se obe yi jina’?!

*Awolowo was not good, when he was here. Bola Ige was not good and even murdered in cold blood in his own bed room in Yoruba land here allegedly by his own people! Abiola was betrayed by his own Yoruba, and eventually killed with the conivance of his own people like a nobody! Gani Faweyinmi was not appreciated by the Yorubas and most  Yoruba governments, until he died! Funsho Williams was mudered in cold blood, because he wanted to be the governor of one of the Yoruba states in Nigeria! Fela Anikulapo kuti faced the same persecution more from his own Yoruba people! And, many more like that I cannot remember to count!*

Now, it is Tinubu! Tinubu is the ‘Otoge’ project of some unscrupulous, abberative and arrogant Yoruba people right now!

Osinbajo didn’t get the votes of the Yorubas and Asiwaju must also stop parading himself as the leader of the Yoruba nation. That is their new and latest project! ‘ Awon keni ma ni’, olote buruku!’

From their votes, they want Osinbajo out as the vice president and from their ‘Otoge’ jargons, they want Tinubu nailed to the cross, for dare working so hard to continue to be the political leader of the present day Yoruba race in Nigeria!

This is who we are as Yorubas! This is who we have been! This is what runs in our blood – rebellion, envy, jealousy and mutiny!

Peculiarly, a Yoruba man is always happy to see the down fall of his own fellow Yoruba man. This is what gives him happiness and satisfaction!

This is the same way the infamous ‘Afonja’ sold the Ilorin people to the control and domination of their political visitors in the history of Kwara State. The same privilege they are working for the Igbos to achieve in Lagos.

The Yoruba man, from the history of his evolution, is ever like that. And, that is why today, we have to be lamenting for the Igbos not to take over the control and dominance of our geo-political space.

Why won’t the Igbos feel so?! They know the type of people we are! They know we are never together! They know with little money, pepper soup and ‘Isiewu’, some Yorubas will always be willing to sell their political birth rights once they and comfortable and economically today.

The Igbos live with us. They know, who we are and they are cashing in on that to take over the control and domination of our geo-political spaces in Yoruba land, because some Yoruba sons and daughters would always be willing to sell it to them for a pot of pottage.

What is Asiwaju Bola Tinubu’s offence, If we ask them?!

Their answer won’t be far fetched: They are just angry with his political leadership success, dexterity, philanthropy and continental political prominence. That’s all!

And, so they want him out as the political  leader of the Yoruba nation in the present day Nigeria!

That is his offence, because that is who we are as Yoruba people! ‘Ogbon agbonju lo n pa alabahun’. They are the ‘alabhun’s’ of our time. And, it is their ‘ogbon agbonju’ that will continue to ruin them one by one!

A people who cannot come out to vote for one of their illustrious sons to continue to retain the position of the vice president in their country, won’t ever see anything wrong for Asiwaju Bola Tinubu to be disgraced and brought down as a leader!

It is in our blood as Yorubas and that is peculiarly, who we are!

THE NORTHERNERS STOOD WITH BUHARI TO CONTINUE TO BE NUMBER ONE CITIZEN OF NIGERIA WITH THEIR VOTES; THE IGBOS DID LIKEWISE FOR OBI, BUT IT IS ONLY THE YORUBAS, WHO DID NOT STAND WITH THEIR OWN.

What a peculiar people!

What a peculiar Yoruba race!
