Thursday morning on my Facebook wall I responded to an Olaitan Oluwakemi Ayodeji, who said Obasanjo is the greatest man in Nigeria today and that he has made three presidents after him and that he is the only living legend. And the response goes thus:
I have read your piece titled, “LET’S APPRECIATE OBASANJO”, above and want to say please don’t rewrite history we are also students of history.
Yes, Obasanjo’s party and president he installed (where you are right) abolished history in school but we still know history of Nigeria old and recent.
NOW tell us: If you agree that Obasanjo is not perfect which, according to you he has admitted, the Buhari that he wants dead at all cost as he claims he knows nothing despite that the Fulani man has performed in three years far better than he did in 8 years and his party did in 16 years is the one that we should take as SAINT, ANGEL and so must accept Obasnjo’s evil plot against him ABI? Or are you talking because Obasanjo is from Yoruba race where you come from? If that is the case, then, like Nnamdi Kanu, you don’t deserve to be called a Nigerian.
“But in Nigeria of today, I dare say he’s the GREATEST and a LIVING LEGEND. Now, let’s see PROVIDENCE at play in Obasanjo’s life.” I USED TO BELIEVE THIS THAT YOU HAVE PUT IN PLACE BUT NO LONGER SO BECAUSE OBASANJO’S BOOK “MY WATCH” PUTS HIM UP AS A COMPLETE FAILURE HEAVENS AND EARTH!
Also How do you arrive at saying somebody is the GREATEST, LIVING LEGEND, and so that we should see PROVIDENCE in his life like you want us to do of Obasanjo? KAI! If you are my course lecturer in the university, I can afford to DROP OUT than let you feed me with fake knowledge.
We may be overridden by future history of Nigeria but today, Muhammadu Buhari is the GREATEST and LIVING LEGEND in Nigeria. He used the position of Power to earn it and far before power he used his humble background and integrity to earn it. SHOW US ONE INTEGRITY AND HUMBLE BACKGROUND OF OBASANJO.
You also said, “We are said to be a nation of about 200m people. Obj has been President for three times. He virtually made three others President after himself.”
DON’T FORGET THAT OBASANJO USED TO BE THE ONLY FORMER MILITARY RULER WHO CAME BACK AS ELECTED PRESIDENT BUT TODAY, IS HE THE ONLY PERSON? NO. ABI? Muhammadu Buhari has now stripped him of that accolade.
Again, to say Obasanjo made three Presidents after himself, you need to name them. You guys make some of us laugh ourselves to say are these same Nigerians of Africa’s greatest country in term of brains? IT IS YOUR BELIEF THAT OBASANJO MADE BUHARI PRESIDENT IN 2015, IN LESS THAN 20 DAYS FROM TODAY, WE SHALL SEE THAT AT PLAY as to whether you are the ones saying the truth or we.
If Obasanjo is anything near greatness, he does not need coalition of 45 discredited political parties led by his dead former party of which membership card he had torn to unseat Muhammadu Buhari.
So, please, just accept that Obasanjo’s joining in the evil foreign trips which are not covered from President Muhammadu Buhari’s watch is something he should be warned against because, for “90 years old” man to die a miserable death due to frustrations generated by TAKING OF NIGERIA’S OWNERSHIP FROM HIM AND FEW OTHERS AND HANDING IT TO THE RIGHTFUL OWNERS THE GOOD PEOPLE OF NIGERIA, it will be too bad for history to condone.
