The Nigerian Election Debate Group has fixed January 19, 2019 as date for presidential debate that will see candidates of different political parties unveil their plan for country ahead of the 2019 general election.

The group’s chairman and chairman of Channels Television, Mr. John Momoh, disclosed this on Thursday in Abuja at a press conference, adding that the vice presidential candidates would have their debates on December 14, 2019.

Momoh, who is also the chairman of the Broadcasting Organisation of Nigeria (BON), noted that the debates would hold at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja and would be broadcast live by all BON member stations.

The leading parties are All Progressives Congress (APC) and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Where APC has President Muhammadu Buhari as its Presidential Candidate with Yemi Osinbajo as his running mate, the PDP will be going to the polls with Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and Dr. Peter Obi as its presidential candidate and running mate respectively.
