Nigerians have replied to question as to whether they are better off now in the last three and a half years under the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led Federal Government of President Muhammadu Buhari than they were under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) four years ago, posed by Director General of PDP Presidential Campaign Council, Senator Bukola Saraki.

Some of the citizens who answered what they separately described as disgusting question coming Saraki said in affirmation: “Yes! We are much more better off now under Buhari than under your PDP four years ago”.

Believing that whether an individual is better off now under Muhammadu Buhari-led APC government than he was four years ago under the government of PDP or not would be the basis for determining who Nigerians will vote as their next President in 2019, Saraki had said Nigerians would asked themselves questions to that effect and then elect his party’s candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar as their next President.

But Wale Ogunyemi, a member of Concerned Citizens in the country and economist, said, “It is not only disgusting that a drowning politicians, whose grip on his state of Kwara has for over 19 years brought no development but poverty and insecurity to the state, would be bringing up a question of whether Nigerians are better off now or not but also insulting to the sensibility of the now exposed Nigerian masses his PDP has misled and defrauded for long.

“For avoidance of doubt, anyway, let me make myself clear to Saraki and his presidential candidate, Atiku, that we are now better off because, for about killings that we know what caused, we now have relative peace, we are comfortable now that after hardship, with hardwork and sincerity to ourselves and our nation, there will be easy life in short time to come.

“We do know how these desperate politicians are working hard to sabotage electricity but they now meet Buhari as a leader worth the position.  We know how they caused hike in prices of food in the markets despite the availability of food items produced now in Nigeria by Nigerian farmers.  We know how they had caused artificial fuel scarcity in the past but how they are finding it difficult to repeat same this year because Buhari is not letting go with his grip on the system.

“We know how they aggravated the age long farmers/herders clashes of the past that never led to any killing but now exploiting same to bring in their killer squad using AK47.  We know all of that and still believe that even the killing of our soldiers are not without their hands.  But, go and watch it, God will soon expose them because I know that the government that we prayed hard to get in 2015 is the government chosen for us by God and God himself is behind it and will make Buhari triumph over them in 2019 so that permanently there will no longer we chance for devilish political players beginning from after February 2019 elections.”

Others who reacted to the statement credited to Saraki include some social media crusaders of Change Regime who are bent on asserting that Buhari will be re-elected in 2019 regardless of evil plots being mounted by the PDP, presidential campaign of which Saraki leads.

Among them are Aderonke Medinah Badmus-Mohammed, Alaka Alexander, Isaac Adewale Fabiyi, Sheriff Shittu Adegboyega, Izazi Kingdom and Alhaji Tukur Mohammed.

Aderonke Medinah Badmus-Mohammed said: “Yes o. Am better ooo”.

said: “D results of ur scrupulous leadership lead to whatever situation u think Nigeria is today.

Isaac Adewale Fabiyi said: “Every sane citizen has seen the horrific results of the destruction of the past and the crude efforts people like Saraki have put in place to disrupt and oppose all good efforts at rebuilding the country.

Sheriff Shittu Adegboyega said: “Definately yes. I can also feel that in my children”.

Izazi Kingdom said: “Was the devilish saraki not part of the government? He can only deceive the fools”.

Alhaji Tukur Mohammed said: “Yes of course we are better .”

As at the time of filing this report, more social media reactions were still pouring in including that of  Yvonne JolaOluwa Oikelomen who replied: “I am more better now and will forever be henceforth…”

Odularu Olugbenga said: “Too early to ask questions from destroyers of our economy. No free money from the treasury to him.”

said: “After you helped in scuttling all efforts by PMB to bring meaningful developments in order to better the lives of the citizens abi?”
